A full or half-day tour is a combination of beautiful scenery and wine tasting in Tuscany – and the starting point of those tours is often from Florence.

The trip starts with a scenic drive to a wine region just about an hour away from Florence or other start points.

You travel by beautiful green hills, vineyards and olive trees for which the region is famous.
Some tours take you to Chianti – a wine region between Florence and Siena, and here you can taste some famous local wines – for example, Chianti Classico and Montespertoli.
The sommelier jumps in, explaining the wines’ characteristics and talking about the region, grape sorts and all things related to the ancient drink.
After visiting these wineries, it’s time for lunch!
Some tours have lunch at a traditional Tuscan restaurant, 3-course lunch, with drinks included in meals, so you’ll be able to try different sorts of Italian wines while you’re launching.
Returning to Florence or other start cities, you often visit a medieval town, such as San Casciano, San Gimignano or Sant’Andrea.
All this is, of course, followed by beautiful scenes of the region.
So if you’re a wine enthusiast visiting Italy, this should be an excellent suggestion for spending a day in one of the world’s most famous foods and drink regions.
