If you’re planning a trip to Fuengirola, getting there is relatively easy.
Depending on where you’re coming from, there are several options available.
By Air
If you’re flying into the area and landing at Malaga’s international airport, you can hop on a train that will take you directly to Fuengirola.
The train station is outside the airport terminal, and trains run frequently throughout the day.
The journey takes around 30 minutes, and tickets are reasonably priced.
Alternatively, you can take a taxi or a bus from the airport to Fuengirola.
Taxis are readily available outside the terminal building, and the journey should take around 25-30 minutes.
Buses also run regularly and are cheaper, although the journey time is slightly longer.
Train
If you’re travelling from elsewhere in Spain, there are several trains that run to Fuengirola from cities such as Madrid and Barcelona.
Again, the train station is conveniently located in the centre of town and is easily accessible.
By Car
Finally, if you’re driving to Fuengirola, the town is well-connected to the rest of the Costa del Sol by a network of highways.
From Malaga, follow the A-7 highway towards Marbella and take the exit for Fuengirola.
Parking in the town can be tricky, especially during peak season, so it’s worth researching your options in advance.
Overall, getting to Fuengirola is a straightforward process, regardless of your mode of transport.
