Riquewihr is located about 15 kilometres from Colmar. You drive through endless vineyards, and suddenly, Riquewihr appears.
A small village in the middle of nowhere between the wine harvests.
Beautiful Houses – Souvenirs and Restaurants
Strolling around and enjoying shopping for souvenirs and delicacies is the most common activity.
Then relax and eat well at any of the many excellent restaurants between the beautiful coloured houses.
It may be sufficient for half to a full day here.
It’s tranquil in the evening, and most of it closes early.
I may have arrived before the high season, but it’s not a party place; relax and explore the beauty.
To walk around among all the beautiful architecture is like being in a fairy tale.
Hotels in Riquewihr
There are many cosy hotels here, and I spent the night at Hotel de la Couronne, a building from the 1500s.
It is surprisingly good to be a 2-star hotel.
