About Øya Festival
Øya festival takes place in Oslo’s charming Tøyenparken.
The name Øya means Island in Norwegian, and the first Øya festival took place in 1999 at the island Kalvoya, with about 1000 visitors.
It moved to Tøyenparken in 2014, and it has become one of the biggest festivals in Norway and a boutique festival for well-known artists.
This fun festival draws around 60,000 music fans to Oslo’s east side.
International stars and local well-known, as well as upcoming artists, will entertain you under this festival.
The park and festival open at 13 o’clock (12 on Saturday) and close at 23 o’clock (11 pm).
But the party can easily continue at the clubs in Oslo.
Take advantage of the Nordic summer “nights” when the skies only turn a sombre blue before going light again.
Many excellent hotels in the centre of Oslo, but this weekend it get sold out fast. A hotel close to the Oya festival and Tøyenparken is Best Western Kampen Hotel.
