Rotterdam, in The Netherlands, is home to the North Sea Jazz Festival. Held at the Rotterdam Ahoy.
Initially held in The Hague in 1976, the festival moved 30 years later to a more prominent location in Rotterdam.
Now it is a festival with more than 1000 musicians and 130 performances on 15 different stages.
The festival focuses on jazz’s past, present and future.
Alongside the jazz performances, many other genres are featured, such as blues, soul, funk, hip-hop, pop and more.
The festival has grown over the years to a large international affair – from 9,000 visitors to 70,000 – but it still retains its intimate character.
You can find all kinds of properties here, from apartment hotels and one-star to luxury five-star hotels.
