It was founded in 1967 and become an event that annually attracts a quarter of a million people. Although it’s the festival that celebrates jazz music, Montreux has implemented other styles of music as well, so there’s always something on the spot for all blues and rock fans. Performers who have visited Montreux Jazz Festival throughout its history are proving its significance. Miles Davis, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, Marvin Gaye, David Bowie are just some names.
