Enjoy all the fantastic frozen art at the Dutch Ice Sculpture Festival.
Take a journey through a frozen world and view over 100 ice and snow sculptures made by the world’s best ice artists.
The 3,000 square metre hall is chilled to -10 degrees Celsius, so you must dress warmly!
This is the most oversized edition ever, and 275,000 kg of ice and 275,000 kg of snow were used to create the musically inspired statues.
It’s a family-friendly festival with special activities for the little ones, such as a slide carved from ice!
Extremely popular, the festival is expecting 150,000 visitors.
Avoid the most extensive queues by visiting in the morning during the week!
You’ll find the Dutch Ice Sculpture Festival at IJsselhallen in Zwolle, 130 kilometres from Amsterdam.
Easy to reach with public transport, it’s a one-hour and 15-minute train ride from Amsterdam Central Station.
You can buy a specially priced combi train and festival ticket.
If you are travelling by car, plenty of parking options are nearby.

Bed & Breakfast – Stay A While is a cheap and popular B&B within walking distance of the venue and, at the same time, not too far from the centre.
On the other side of the centre, you have an extraordinary tower hotel with exciting rooms, De Pelsertoren.
It is a little under 2 kilometres from the ice sculpture festival, with a nice walk through the centre.
From the tower, you have a great view over Zwolle from their terrasse.
Apart! Food & Drinks Apartments is maybe the best one right in the center of old town.
Good rooms / apartments, a nice onsite restaurant and bar.
Even many restaurants and bars nearby and just 20 minutes walk to the festival.
