Enjoy all the amazing frozen art at Dutch Ice Sculpture Festival.
Take a journey through a frozen world and view over 100 ice and snow sculptures made by the world’s best ice artists.
The 3,000 square metre hall is chilled to -10 degrees celsius so you’ll need to dress warmly!
This is the biggest edition ever and 275,000 kgs of ice and 275,000 kgs of snow have been used to create the musically inspired statues.
It’s a family-friendly festival with special activities for the little ones such as a slide carved from ice!
Extremely popular, the festival is expecting 150,000 visitors.
Avoid the biggest queues by visiting in the morning during the week!
You’ll find the Dutch Ice Sculpture Festival at IJsselhallen in Zwolle, 130 kilometers from Amsterdam.
Easy to reach with public transport, it’s a one hour and 15-minute train ride from Amsterdam Central Station.
You can buy a specially priced combi train and festival ticket.
If you are travelling by car, there are plenty of parking options nearby.

Bed & Breakfast – Stay A While is a cheap and popular B&B within walking distance of the venue, and at the same time, not too far from the center.
At the other side of the center you have a very special tower hotel with exciting rooms, De Pelsertoren.
It is a little under 2 kilometers from the ice sculpture festival with a nice walk through the center.
From the tower you have a great view over Zwolle from their terasse.
Apart! Food & Drinks Apartments is maybe the best one right in the center of old town.
Good rooms / apartments, a nice onsite restaurant and bar.
Even many restaurants and bars nearby and just 20 minutes walk to the festival.
