If you want to live right in this lively area, I recommend Barcelona Bed and Breakfast right above an Irish Pub.
The hotel was good value for money with excellent service, lovely breakfast and good beds.

The cosy old harbour
Right within the Old Town, you find this relaxing area.
It is a popular spot on warm summer nights when people sit down for a couple of hours to watch the sunset.
Some people brought a beer or two, and others sat at the outdoor restaurants along the harbour promenade.
The setting creates a lovely atmosphere and extra excellent for romancing couples.

You can find a great place with fancy and modern architecture in the harbour area of Dusseldorf and excellent restaurants with spectacular views over Dusseldorf and the river Rhein.

“Altstadt”
The old town of Dusseldorf is well known for its 300 bars and restaurants. Stroll around and find your favourite place, something for all tastes here, and if you come late in the evening, you will discover a big party here.
Saturday nights are crazy, and you probably need a soundproofed hotel room if you want to sleep earlier than 4 in the morning.
