A visit to a Foodies Festival is a fun day out for the whole family.
Edinburgh is home to the original Foodies Festival, and it once again hosts this three-day culinary food festival in August:
The month of festivals in Edinburgh.
About Edinburgh Food Festival
The first festival was in 2006.
Since then, Edinburgh local and festival founder, Sue Hitchen, has launched more Foodies Festivals across the UK.
The festivals are food and drink celebrations, offering the visitor a vast array of culinary delights and activities.
Mingle with the top local chefs, bakers, patisserie chefs, chocolatiers, restaurateurs, artisan producers, distillers and brewers.
It’s a truly social event where the visitor has the option to visit a variety of theatres.
There’s the Chef’s Theatre, where top chefs give cooking demonstrations; a Tasting Theatre, BBQ Arena, Children’s Cookery Theatre, and Cake and Bake Theatre, to name just a few.
Vegetarian
Vegans and vegetarians won’t be disappointed with plenty of vegetarian and vegan fare for tasting.
There will also be vegan cooking demonstrations held in the Chef’s Theatre.
Wine, Champagne and Craft-Beer
The Drink’s Theatre is the place to head if you want to sample wine, champagne, craft beer, or partake in a Wine & Champagne Masterclass.
Entertainment
Chill out by the entertainment stage, which features plenty of music throughout the festival – many unsigned – to get you stomping your feet and moving to the beat.
The festival ethos is creativity, positivity and fun, focusing on developing skills and being true to yourself.
