With a history of more than 550 years, Dürkheim’s Wurstmarkt is one of the largest wine festivals in the world.
One of Germany’s most traditional and entertaining festivals is annually held two weekends in September.
The festival is famous for its entertaining part, attracting thousands of yearly visitors.
It goes from small traditional wine stands to large wine halls based on what seems more inviting and intriguing.
There’s also the Weindorf, with some of the best wine products in Germany and Europe.
The festival focuses on wines, but it’s not all that Wurstmarkt is offering.
Fun for the whole family; You’ll find a combination of wine, literature and many exciting things.
While there, visit the Michaelskapelle (the chapel) above the market.
Until the 15th century, pilgrims walked up the hill on St. Michael’s Day, considered the origin of the Wurstmarkt festival.

Dürkheim’s Wurstmarkt combines tradition and wine culture – two things that describe the region best.
