Beer lovers! What about a beer festival in late December, just around Christmas? There’s one in Essen!
We’re talking about Essen in Belgium – a small, beautiful village 35 kilometres from Antwerp, near the Dutch border.
The Christmas Beer Festival
Every year, Objective Beer tasters Essen Region – shortly OBER – organizes the Christmas Beer Festival.
During the two-day Christmas beer festival, you have the chance to try more than 150 Belgian Winter and Christmas beers (the festival’s official name is OBER Kerstbierfest).
The beer festival wouldn’t be without food, so you can combine beer with dishes at fair prices.
Choose between sausages, cheeses, beef steaks or soups the festival will offer.
There are just a few hotels in Essen, so booking as soon as possible is wise to secure a room for this festival.
As there are excellent connections by train between Antwerp and Essen, we would suggest staying in Antwerp.
