The Amsterdam Light Festival will still encounter light art in the city!
Unfortunately, it cannot allow groups of people to come together at all anymore. so it will not be any Light Walk this year.
More info and latest updates on their official website:
It is always a good time to visit Amsterdam, but the annual Amsterdam Light Festival makes a visit in the winter extra special.
Discover new light art and experience ‘When Nature Calls’ during the ninth edition of Amsterdam Light Festival.
This year you will be exploring on foot with the Light Walk (The Light Walk is cancelled).
During the Light Walk, you will walk with your smartphone in your hand through the beautiful Plantage-Weesperbuurt.
Via WhatsApp, theater maker Lucas De Man, creative director of the festival, tells one big story about light art, nature and the city with videos, photos and audio messages.
The walk is interactive, because as a visitor you can influence the story yourself.
Do you want to delve into light art? App this to Lucas and he shares exclusive interviews with the artists.
Are you interested in history? Then he tells you more about the past of the neighborhood you are going to walk into.

Hotels: Hotels in Amsterdam
There are hundreds of hotels located across Amsterdam’s various districts, but for tourists wanting to explore around the canals and historic centre you should look for a city centre location.
You can find hotels for all budgets – at the luxury end there are hotels like the fantastic, luxurious De ‘Europe Amsterdam; a 5 star hotel set on the Amstel River, and a 10 minute walk from Dam Square.
The Radisson Blu Hotel is also at the high-end. It’s a 4 star hotel situated in a quieter street, only 7 minutes walk to Dam Square.
The building has an historic, grand feel to the outside with modern guest rooms inside.
There are many great budget hotels too if you want to save your money for shopping and sightseeing, or opt for the middle range and choose one of a number of 3 star hotels, an overview here.
