Stuttgart Fruhlingsfest – Springfest, Germany

16 April – 8 May 2022

About Stuttgart Springfest

Stuttgart Springfest is a family-friendly funfair with a vast range of stalls and rides and famous beer tents.

Held over three weeks in spring, it’s one of the biggest spring festivals in Europe.

Wednesday’s are family days when there are many concessions offered plus plenty of surprises for the little ones.

Festival tents are the place to enjoy good food and wine, while the Traders’ market is the place to indulge in a bit of shopping away from the hustle and bustle.

Tents

Your Springfest landlords are there to entertain you and will provide you with tasty food and plenty of good beer and cheer!

  • Almhuettendorf – an alpine experience offering Tyrolean specialities.
  • Goeckelesmaier – freshly-tapped beer and a party atmosphere add up to a memorable experience.
  • Grandls Hofbrau Zelt – sample the state’s most popular beer: The Stuttgarter Hofbrau.
  • Zum Wasenwirt – Bands and DJs, beer promotions and Super Sundays.

Events

The Major of Stuttgart will officially open the Stuttgart Springfest with the traditional keg tapping on Saturday in the festival tent “Zum Wasenwirt”.

Wednesdays are designated Family Days.

In addition to the main festival events, each festival tent offers a complete program of events.

The Springfest closes with a fabulous fireworks display.

Where to stay

As the festival site is easy to reach, you can choose between staying in the centre of Stuttgart or Bad Cannstatt near the festival site, Cannstatter Wasen.

Motel One Stuttgart is only 800 m from where the festival takes place.

It has on-site parking and a subway station across the road, making it ideal for exploring Stuttgart.

Low rates, excellent reviews, and a great location make this a perfect choice for your stay.

If you’d prefer to stay in the heart of Stuttgart, Motel One Stuttgart-Hauptbahnhof is a good pick.

Close to the Central Station with bright, spacious rooms, it’s convenient to base yourself while in Stuttgart.

How to get there

The Stuttgart Springfest is easy to reach however you choose to travel.

It’s held at the Cannstatter Wasen in Bad Cannstatt, an outer suburb of Stuttgart.

Stuttgart Airport is approximately 25-km away, and there is a direct train service running to the festival site.

Parking is limited so taking public transport to the festival venue is a good option.

The festival website has it all listed for details of the various S-Bahn, U-Bahn, and bus lines.

You’ll also find driving directions and park and ride (P+R) detail there.
